does anyone else ever think about the song “I See Dead People in Boats” from potc awe? and how the first half of the song is heard in the beginning half of the movie, specifically when Elizabeth discovers her father has died, and then how the second half of the song is heard in the latter half of the film when Norrington ultimately dies. these two scenes are separated by an hour’s worth of other material, yet Hans Zimmer is an utter genius for putting them together in one song. bc now this song is the soundtrack to these absolutely heart-wrenching scenes, two scenes where Elizabeth loses these two men that she grew up with, these two gentlemen whose deaths quite literally mark the end forever of her old life as it was. there are no longer ties to that high society life, and something else of note is that they are both two scenes in which Elizabeth can cry or heartily cry out for the lost one. and they are now two scenes that make me cry as well. anyone else?
